World Cup 2026 has started. The first two competitions in Seinäjoki, Finland, May 23-24.

Lasse Falck Weber, Denmark, and Karin Stenback, Sweden, are in the lead in the World Cup standings after the first two competitions in Finland. The competitions were held in Seinäjoki, southeast of Vaasa.

At Saturday’s Classic distance, Petja Ylikylä, Finland, won the M21 class. Second came Lasse Falck Weber, Denmark, and third was Mikko Hölsö, Finland. In the W21 class took Karin Stenback, Sweden, the victory, before Marie Fred, Finland, and Rafaela von Frenckell, Finland. Caroline Sandelin, Finland, ended in fourth place.

World Cup #2, Sprint competition. In completely new weather conditions compared to the heat from yesterday, the Sunday’s sprint competition gave the competitors challenging strong wind and rain.

Denmark took the two top places on the podium in the M21 class. Jonas Falck Najbjerg won, just 11 seconds ahead of Lasse Falck Weber. On third place came Aleksi Hauhia, Finland, 44 seconds behind.

In the W21 class, Karin Stenback, Sweden, took a new victory, 41 seconds ahead of Katariina Nurmo, Finland. Hilda Kukonlehto, came third, 2:17 behind.
