It was raining cats and dogs, thick clouds were moving across the country from the west. Puddle after puddle lined the paths, somehow everything was wet.
But: a real orienteer goes to the adjustment shooting and then onto the course even in the worst weather.
The 2nd day of the competition was reserved for the sprint competition. A first round on the course to find the checkpoints, then prone shooting, a second round followed by standing shooting, then the finish. Misses in shooting were penalized with penalty rounds. And it was hard to believe, the rain let up and now and then the sun peeked through between the clouds …
The day ended with a banquet at the PLEXUS Center in Idom. There, the winners in all age groups were honored with a festive award ceremony and a big thank you was given to the entire team that made this WBOC possible with a perfect course of events. And of course, the good food was not to be missed …
